Experience art, music, and writing workshops before we recognize that Trees Color Our World during Nebraska City’s 2018 Arbor Day Festival.

 

Poetry & Pickin’ Music Performance and Gallery Talk

The Barada Hills of Nebraska Exhibit features watercolors by John Frederick Lokke and poetry by Jan Chism Wright. The exhibit will be on display April 3- 28, 2018 in the Kimmel Gallery at the Morton-James Public Library. A special night of music by Jeff and Mary Barker will include a gallery talk.

Robin RozanskiPossibilities of Collage Writing

Join us for an Italian dinner buffet and a workshop on collage writing led by Robin Rozanski, an artist in residence at the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts. Like visual collage, collage writing brings eclectic pieces together to tell a new story or refresh an old one, and can provide a powerful storytelling alternative to traditional formats.

Heartfelt correspondence is truly a gift that keeps on giving.

Arbor Day 2018 – Trees Color Our World

What better place to celebrate Arbor Day than in Arbor Day’s Hometown and Tree City USA! Nebraska City will be buzzing with activities all weekend long including a 5K/10K Fun Run, Bloody Mary Competition, Parade, Home and Garden show and so much more!

At Whispering Pines Bed and Breakfast we’ll be practicing yoga in the garden followed by healthy snacks on Friday evening and hosting appetizers as part of Saturday night’s Progressive Dinner.
