5 reasons to visit Whispering Pines B & B in the Winter

We know it isn’t the norm for people around here to get out and about this time of year, but we are giving you 5 great reasons to be out-of-the-box thinkers this winter and come visit us at Whispering Pines Bed and Breakfast.

It’s time to treat you

You’ve spent the past few months (or at least weeks) preparing for the holidays.  You’ve shopped, wrapped, cooked, baked, cleaned and all the other stuff that goes along with this hectic time of year.  And, no doubt you’ve scooped and shoveled a bit of snow, too.  Now it’s time to treat yourself!  Give yourself the gift of time and renewal with a getaway.  Add an in-room massage with one of local massage therapists or return with your friends for a special deal!

Enjoy a midnight or morning soak in the hot tub

Winter Morning Hot Tub

There is nothing like easing into a steaming hot tub when your body is tired and sore (from shoveling snow and being on your feet – see #1 above!)  Whether you prefer sunrise or sunset, midnight or anytime in between, our hot tub is open and available 24/7!  Slip into your Whispering Pines B&B robe, get a cup of coffee, hot cocoa or a glass of wine and relax your cares away.  If you’re lucky, you’ll hear our hoot owl give a holler or the local deer will swing by for a visit to munch on nature’s icicles.

Puzzle Success

Put together a puzzle

We know you face challenges every day, but when is the last time you challenged yourself to put together a puzzle and, had uninterrupted time to do it!? Get away from looking at all you have to get done around your place and come hang out with your buddy and chat and piece by piece, create a masterpiece you can be proud of completing!

Go for a winter hike

Missouri Rive View from MRB Lewis and Clark

Fresh air and Vitamin D are not only good for the lungs and body, but for the soul!  Walk the historical Arbor Lodge State Park (2 blocks) or choose from the trails at the Missouri River Basin Lewis and Clark Center (10 mins), Steamboat Trace Hike and Bike Trail (20 mins), Waubonsie State Park (20 mins) or Indian Cave State Park (50 mins).  Viewing the Missouri River with ice is quite the site to see and hiking when the trees are bare opens up a whole new scenery of nature.
