As a licensed Bed and Breakfast in the State of Nebraska in Nebraska City, here at Whispering Pines B&B, we are closely monitoring the status of the COVID-19 outbreak and are abiding by the regulations and recommendations of the CDC and the state.
At this time, we are open for business and accepting reservations. For updated details on our status, please see below.
The situation is fluid and we will be updating this as necessary.
We are now even more hyper-vigilant about sanitation in our guest rooms and contact surfaces in our common areas, and have implemented enhanced health and safety measures and protocols to help minimize exposure risks.
We do ask if you are in the high risk category, have any symptoms or have been around someone that has tested positive or are not comfortable with our policies and procedures, please choose to visit us at a later date. Guests are not required to wear masks in the common areas nor when on our grounds. Guests still assume all risks when visiting.
CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT: In order to support optimum social distancing and best practices protection for all, all guests will have the option of Self Check-in and Self Check-out and directions to your room along with other pertinent info will be made available. We will be available for communication via text or phone calls. Or, if you\’re comfortable, we are happy to greet you and show you around at a safe distance. Please let us know your preferences in advance. Your sanitized room keys will be waiting for you in your room door to eliminate our having to pass them back and forth and can be left there when you depart.
BREAKFAST SERVICE: We can offer a grab and go option for you to take to your room or out to our porch or grounds for a picnic, weather permitting. Otherwise, we have three dining tables with ample space between them and will stagger breakfast service times if necessary. We\’ll discuss this at check-in, but should you choose self check-in, please let us know your breakfast preferences in advance. Should you want us to wear a mask during our service to you in the morning, we are happy to do so.
IN ROOM: We have refrigerators available in all of our rooms for those who wish to bring your own food rather than dining out. All superfluous room amenities, such as books , magazines decorative pillows, have been removed from the guest rooms for the time being. Our bathroom disinfectants and procedures meet the CDC guidelines. In addition, all other hard and high-touch surfaces, such as light switches, remote controls, door knobs, etc are sanitized. All non-washables such as drapes, bedspreads and cloth furniture are sprayed with disinfectants.
COMMON AREAS: All other hard and high-touch surfaces, such as light switches, door knobs, railings, etc are sanitized on a regular basis prior to guests arriving, throughout the evening and morning as guests come and go. Our self serve cookies and mixed nuts have been removed for now. Your homemade chocolate chip cookies will be placed in your room in a baggie. Games, playing cards, movies, DVD players, etc. are all still available in the Den. We ask if you choose to use them, leave them in your room so we can sanitize them prior to being put back into the Den. Same goes with a cork screw.
CANCELLATIONS: Also, during these difficult times, if you decide to cancel, we will be issuing a Credit Voucher for a future stay in the amount of your deposit for any cancellations that fall within our normal 48 hour cancellation policy. If you cancel inside of 48 hours prior to arrival, your deposit will be refunded, less our normal $25 fee for costs we incurred to process your reservation. (Group or whole house rental policies follow their own policies).
STAFF: Our staff is asked not to come to work should they be ill or have any symptoms. They wear masks while cleaning the guest rooms and common areas.
So if you are looking to escape the crowds, work virtually from here or just have cabin fever and need to chill, please consider coming to our small five room Bed & Breakfast in Nebraska City to enjoy our porch, patio, deck, six acres, local parks, hiking trails and fresh air. We\’re doing our best to keep up with what local restaurants and attractions are open. Feel free to ask us, but we highly recommend calling or contacting them directly immediately prior to your visit as hours and options are continually changes.
If you are not comfortable visiting us right now, we understand and hope to see you on the other side of this. Or, consider purchasing a gift certificate for a future stay.
We will get through this. Faith over fear.
