Artist Bug Davidson, an artist in residence at the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts, leads a discussion on contemporary art and sustainability followed by a survey on your personal thoughts and habits around the subject. Carole J. Bufford – Fearless Females of the 1960s | Dessert Special
Stretching the city limits south to Brownville, enjoy an evening of cabaret music performed by Carole J Bufford as part of their 2018 concert series. Guests of Whispering Pines can show their tickets and be treated to after-show desserts delivered to their room.
Bufford is one of cabaret’s brightest rising stars, with a distinctive, bluesy voice and a flair for the theatrical. Her new set, devoted to songstresses of the 1960s, features tunes associated with such era definers as Janis Joplin, Dusty Springfield, Tina Turner, Carole King, Lesley Gore, Dionne Warwick and Shirley Bassey.

KHN’s Third Thursday Artist Talk – A Little Birdie Told Me
A Little Birdie Told Me – Works by Michael Villarreal will be on display at the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts gallery from April 16 through June 1, 2018. Artist Michael Villarreal will present a gallery talk coinciding with KHN’s Third Thursday Artist Talk Event. The evening also features open studio time with the other artists-in-residence.
A Little Birdie Told Me presents a body of work created from materials known for the construction of houses. Integrating materials such as insulation foam, wood, and paint, Villarreal creates sculptures to resemble the components that make up a house in order to reference memory, time, place, and self.

Dinner and Song with Kray van Kirk
Join us for a Farm to Table 4-course meal followed by an intimate house concert with singer/songwriter Kray van Kirk. His connection with those who come to spend an evening with his exceptional fingerstyle guitar and storied lyrics led the Borderline Folk Club in New York to write that Van Kirk was “what every singer-songwriter should aspire to.”

WWI Exhibit at the Arbor Lodge Mansion
Arbor Lodge Mansion is host to a special display featuring vintage American flags from the Arbor Lodge collection during the Memorial Day Weekend. The flags will be displayed throughout the mansion where you’ll also discover exhibits honoring Morton family and local WWI veterans and commemorating events of 1918.
